Positive Cesarean Birth

We welcomed our son to the world in November 2023. He was, and is, a big healthy baby.

He was in no rush to join us, and after not going into spontaneous labour, we decided to be induced. After 12+ hours of the hormone drip (we maxed out the amount of hormones the hospital is allowed to give one patient), we had not progressed much at all and we decided to have a cesarean section.

We were able to get through the 12+ hours of labour and contractions using only the techniques we learnt in your course, and no other medical pain relief. We practiced soft touch and listened to the tracks provided, and had a wonderful and peaceful experience. At no time was I fearful of what was happening or going to happen, and felt very in touch with my body during the process.

When the Ob discussed with us the option of having a cesarean, we felt more empowered to ask the questions to get the information we needed to make an informed decision.

During the operation, we continued to practice the techniques learnt, and spoke with the medical staff about our wishes for the birth. We were able to play our playlist during the section, and had skin to skin contact after the birth.

After our son was born, we learnt why we had not progressed with a spontaneous labour or vaginal birth - his head circumference was in the 90th+ percentile and he was not moving down any time soon. :)

We have no doubt that the birth was a better experience because of our learnings from your course, and we're very grateful for that.

Thank you!
